The cover art itself was a depiction of her, shrouded in mystery as to who it actually was. Red posies are placed throughout the cover art tho show true passion and beauty that transcends time.

There also exists an alternate cover art for this mix, where she is the brightest light in the cover. Nicknamed "At Last".

Song Selections

Most of the songs revolve around the central theme of "You", however, I have got questions about some of the song selections.

Dreaming of You - Slushii

When I first met her when both of our high schools were playing a football game against each other, we were both in marching band. I, an alto saxophone player, and her, color guard. If I had to go back to the moment I met her in person at the guest concession stand during the third quarter, this song accurately captures my attention at that moment.

IMY - REAPER ft. Belle Renee

At the point I made this mix, it had been about 10 years since we had seen each other in person, but keeping in contact with her over the years, from social media updates she made, and that's why this song came to mind. I still missed her, but I knew she was living her life to the fullest and pursuing her dreams.

Say Amen (Saturday Night) - Panic! At the Disco

Knowing she was (and still is) a huge Panic! At the Disco fan, especially Brendon Urie, I had to include a few songs from them. As a kind of way to hint at it was for her, without adding pressure if I explicitly named her in it.

Alone (Sullivan King Remix) - Kayzo & Our Last Night

I was EXTREMELY nervous to ask her out. I got very afraid that she would say no many a time, But, over time (near the breakdown of the song), I finally gained the courage to ask her out, but in a way that not many expect.

Brightest Light - Seven Lions ft. Dotter

This song alone was the starting point that made me want to make this mix for her. In the beginning of the song, I tried to figure out why I got cold feet and not asking her out before, even though she has been on my mind a LOT. Now that I realized she was, and still is, my brightest light.

This song also has a saxophone backend, which harkens back to how we met, as I was the alto saxophone player in my high school's marching band at the time.

At the time, I felt like someone with her personality didn't exist, because she is sweet, kind, and caring, and to make it so much better, the day I met her in person for the first time at that high school football game, I was overwhelmed with happiness that she was real. Although it was 10 years ago as of writing, and the memories of us in person are small, but the hold much more weight to me.

This song has 2 meanings to it.
1. I'm not sure if it's an autistic trait that I harness, but I associate every person I meet with a color. It's rather hard to explain, but every person in a certain group or clique is assigned a color to them, and that color can change and blend overtime. She was different.

2. This song also hold significance because she was in her marching band's color guard throughout high school and her collegiate years.

Back for More - NGHTMRE & Big Gigantic ft. Olivia Sebastianelli

As of writing, it has been 10 years, but I am coming back for more. Also, the saxophone instrumental part is related to my time in marching band. And, it is the exact reason I blended this with the previous song New Color (Oliverse Remix), because it signifies blending out love for music together.

Persist - BADSPELL (fka posterkid)

I included this one, because, in our conversations leading up to me creating this mix, I can be a little persistent on the compliments for her on Snapchat, Instagram, and whatnot. But, it always puts a smile on my face that she is happy. That's perfection to me.

I thought what I was feeling was a Hallucination, and not love. I have asked my best friends if I was insane many times for doing this for her, not knowing the mix was for her. But, It wasn't a Hallucination. It was love. That's also why I used the Instrumental, because honestly the vocals don't exactly convey that message.

I included this song because it was, what I thought, a vision to the future summer.

Lovefool (Lenno Remix) - twocolors

I felt like I was originally a fool for falling in love like this, but I felt the spark that I wasn't the fool. I wanted to include the original twocolors version, but I thought the Lenno remix fit better here.

Victorious (RAC Mix) - Panic! At The Disco

As I mentioned, her favorite band is Panic! At the Disco, and additionally, I felt like I would be very victorious after this mix, especially having a lot of lore and background to the mix, especially when I cranked it to eleven to go as far as I did for this mix.

You - Regard, Troye Sivan, Tate McRae

This song was the inspiration for the name of the mix. I wanted to use her nickname, but I felt like that was too easy. She inspired the mix, and that's why the song You is included. Also, if you noticed how many times "you" is said in this mix?

Whenever I wasn't sleepless and kept awake, I still dream of love, what would I do without her?

Stop What You're Doing - Dodge & Fuski and JFB

You, the reader, are probably confused as to why I included this song. Albeit, it is a rather odd pick into the mix, but there's a meta reason why I picked this one. When I made the back art with the tracklist, I highlighted the artist and DJ JFB in it. Why? Because her initials are the same as the UK DJ's. I thought it was a meta touch and a fun play for using the song.
