Why did I make this?

I made this mix in particular for a couple of reasons, other than to continue the "You" saga of mixes.

I wanted to finally make the wish to finally be with the person I've wanted for years, the same person that is depicted in all of the "You" saga.

This mix als0 includes quite a few songs that she is familiar with. When creating the You Explaination, I have been collecting songs that we were sharing each other leading up to the whole mix saga, dubbed "The Prologue." In the inspiration of the Prologue, I have mixed in songs that we had both traded.

When reading the explanation, I will highlight what songs were shared by who, with 💙 and ❤️ for me and her, respectively.

About the Cover Art

Like in the previous covers of You and the Journey to You, red posies are placed throughout the cover art to show true passion and beauty that transcends time. The water in front is a representation of me finally coming across the river as explained in the Journey to You explanation.

Another fun fact, in real life, we both are fans of the Pokémon series, and in the mythos (and Pokédex entries) of the Pokémon Jirachi, Jirachi is known as the Wish Maker Pokémon, and from the official Pokédex entry:

Although I am not much of a singer, I can use my art of music to invoke a voice of purity, which is depicted in the mix as a whole.

In addition to the purity, the alternate cover for Wish Maker, known as "Wish Granted" invokes the sun rising with the wish being fulfilled by Jirachi. Also, she in the cover is holding hands with the viewer.

Song Selections

Shiver - John Summit & HAYLA

She makes me shiver, near tears when I saw her in person after a long time. Up into this mix, I re-met her again in real life. I felt shivers. It was intense for someone I had, and currently have, powerful feelings for. And it was STRONG. Still to this day.

In Your Arms (For An Angel) - Topic, Robin Schulz, Nico Santos, & Paul van Dyk

When I saw her face again, the piano notes from the original For An Angel started to play, because she was real and not something behind a digital persona of pictures. I was so elated.

Language - Porter Robinson

I wanted a song that felt like a dream world. I imagine her being the brightest light I have been searching for all of my life. In a beautiful landscape, but the true beauty was her all along. Language was the song for that.

All I Ever Need - Slushii feat. Aviella

My mind was on fire. She gave me the feeling that she was "all I ever need" and as simple as this song is, it definitely captured the essence nicely.

Edit (02/14/2025): Because this song was influential to me about her, I finally tried out music production for the first time, and did a short remix of this song.

Body Back - Gryffin feat. Maia Wright

I didn't care what anybody said at this point as I was making the mixes.

I know. I've heard it all. I was worried too.

But I can't deny the feelings I have for her, but more importantly I set limits so I'm not overbearing. That was my worst fear. That I would accidently scare her off. I wasn't going to give her up easily.

Deeper Love - Jauz

I had a deeper love for her than anyone else could even fathom. I had a strong will. Pretty simple as that.

Good Feeling - Duvall ft. Sam Gray

I had a good feeling, especially for her. I felt great thinking that my Wish could come true.

Car Keys (Ayla) - Alok & Ava Max

She was the key to the car, the whole thing that drove me to making the mixes something I have done for another person EVER. And that drove arguably great art, visually and musically. It was true, she was the keys to the car.

This is What You Came For - Calvin Harris & Rihanna

I know what I came for. It was her. She was the one I've been after for years. But, like in the song, I was hoping she was looking at me.

All You Need To Know - Gryffin & SLANDER feat. Calle Lehmann

You'll never have to be alone, and that's all you need to know. This song is the true definition of how I felt about her. Put it all on me, I'm always happy to hear.

Out of My League - Fitz & the Tantrums ❤️

This song was actually a reference to a song she posted on her Snapchat. I've noted songs we've both put on stories, and this is one song she included.

Plus I felt she was out of my league. Like, by a lot.

he loves me, he loves me not - Jessica Baio ❤️

Another song she posted, but i felt like this was more of a choice towards me, thinking that she was confused herself. Do I love her? Do I love her not? Spoiler: I do. I do think about her when she's gone.

Blinding Lights (Chromatics Remix) - The Weeknd feat. Johnny Jewel

I'm blinded by the lights. Maybe you can show me how to love, maybe? I'm going through withdrawals. I can't sleep until I feel your touch.

Past Lives (Ian Asher Remix) - sapientdream & Slushii

Our past only built up to where we are now. I was a little more wacky in the past.

This song was a signal that our past don't define us, it built us into what we are today. And I feel like, in a past life, we were together.

Let Me Be The One - Julian Jordan & Guy Arthur

This whole song really shows how BAD I really wanted her.

we can't be friends (wait for your love) - Ariana Grande ❤️

Another song referenced from her, however, she referenced the album, as it happen to release about the time I was conceptualizing Wish Maker, and this happened to be one of the songs.

Silhouette (Feed Me Remix) - Bad Computer feat. Skyelle

I Hold Still - Jauz & Crankdat feat. Slushii

I hold still. Especially since it was her I wanted. No matter what was going in my head, she was the constant in my head.

Fear (Sun Version) - ZachGG

This song really expresses how much fear I have for how much I truly love her, and I'm terrified I don't have you, but I still love you then like I love you today.

Dancin (Krono Remix) - Aaron Smith feat. Luvli

It felt like we were dancing under the stars. It was nearly euphoric in nature.

Astronomia (Never Go Home) - Tony Igy

This was more of a call to myself. Was it truly a real life feeling, or was this "more of a dream" or "more like a high"? I was thinking that what I was feeling was just a dream.

This wasn't meant to be a desperate call for not being lonely, rather it was a call that I needed you, and I didn't want to be alone in my passion for her.

Something worth noting too, this sing was the actual first song I picked for Wish Maker, because I was mostly trying to explain in song why my wish should come true, and this song came to mind.

Anywhere - SLANDER & Au5 feat. shYbeast & PLYA

This song was the song that really pushed me to do Wish Maker. In fact, in quite a few appearances I've done on the radio show House Arrest, this has been a common song choice near the end, and it was a subtle call and nod to her.

Call On Me (Au5 Remix) - Seven Lions feat. Vancouver Sleep Clinic

This song also became a great ending song for my various appearances of House Arrest, and it let's her know she can always call on me.

Nightlight - ILLENIUM feat. Annika Wells

You are the brightest light in my life (which is also mixed into the end of the song as a reference to the first mix, You.) And you'll be my Nightlight. The light at the end of the tunnel. The wish I made. The journey I took. It all ended to you. And tagging the ending "He's waiting for you" sampled from the song Are You Scared by Oiki, signifying I'm waiting for you.
